Did you know that... Director Niki Caro and casting director Diana Rowan visited the school in Mt. Wellington in 2001 where Keisha Castle-Hughes went to school. To find there next eleven-year-old star to be chosen for the role of Paikea in Caro's upcoming film Whale Rider. Keisha Castle-Hughes had no major interest before there visit to act but Diana Rowan detected untapped acting potential in Keisha Castle-Hughes.
